About Me
IMG_6510.JPG

I have been born and raised in Florida for all for life. I am currently a fourth year student at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) obtaining a dual degree in English and Animal Biology come May 2020. I plan to attend physician assistant school after my undergraduate studies and hope to work in pediatric endocrinology. I also aim to become a certified diabetes educator, as I am extremely passionate about Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) awareness and research ever since my younger sister was diagnosed back in 2015. I believe that more action needs to be taken to address accessibility and affordability issues that those with diabetes face. As a future PA, I hope to combat these concerns and misconceptions of the condition, while spreading public awareness of diabetes.

A few peers and I developed a short podcast on diabetes concerns as part of a project.

On My Down Time...

On my free time, I love to read all sorts of literature, from classic poetry to fantasy epics. Libraries and bookstores are second homes for me. I especially enjoy writing poetry as well, and have had the incredible opportunity to take poetry writing workshops with poet Ange Mlinko while at the University of Florida.

I am also an adventurer and love to travel. Personally, my favorite spot on the globe is Ireland! I had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Limerick for a month, during which I studied Irish literature and legend. I was able to learn so much about their history and culture while also embarking on numerous adventures.

I have a passion for equine sports and enjoy relaxing on horseback trail rides. In fact, I love all farms animals! One day, I hope to have some land and a small animal farm my own.

I am an avid listener of all kinds of music, from classical to indie rock. I enjoy playing ukulele and am in the process of learning to play guitar. Some of my favorite music artists are Twenty One Pilots, Sleeping At Last, Hozier, and Halsey.
